Funds Transfer (FAST)

FAST was introduced in response to the increasing demand from consumers and businesses for faster and more efficient funds transfers. Currently, it can take up to three working days for customers to transfer money from one banking account to another across banks. With FAST, it is almost instant.

The decision to participate in FAST is based on individual banks’ and non-financial institutions’ commercial considerations. More banks and NFIs may join at later date.

Yes, FAST is secure and adopts the same high security standards established by the banking industry in Singapore for funds transfer. Additional transaction signing will be required for ad-hoc PayNow transfers above S$1,000 and up to maximum $5,000.

Senders will be required to add their recipients as registered payees for all transactions above S$5,000. For payees that are added, an additional transaction signing will be required for transactions above S$5,000.

Customers with savings or current accounts at the participating banks can use FAST.
