The Electronic Banker’s Guarantee (eBG) Programme is offered by Singapore Customs to speed up the security lodgement process of Banker’s Guarantee with Singapore Customs. Under the enhanced eBG Programme launched on 2nd November 2020, it will be a fully paperless process whereUOB will send the BG digital data via Networked Trade Platform (NTP) on your behalf directly to Singapore Customs, without the need to generate or deliver any original BG.
Under this programme, you will no longer need to manually collect the original BG from bank counters and deliver it to Singapore Customs. UOB will send the digital BG data to Singapore Customs on your behalf. BG Claims or BG discharge will be done by Singapore Customs electronically to the Bank, via NTP.
The eBG Programme is only applicable for new BGs and extensions of BGs issued favouring Singapore Customs (Director-General of Customs / Deputy Comptroller of Goods and Services Tax).
Under this programme, your security lodgement will be prioritised by Singapore Customs and you will not have to physically collect or deliver the original BG from UOB. Overall this shortens your current lodgement process with Singapore Customs.
