The advent of climate and social demographic change has also highlighted the emerging importance of sustainability (environmental, social and governance) in healthcare provision.

The healthcare sector contributes directly and indirectly to greenhouse gas emissions. As healthcare spend rises, carbon emissions are expected to follow, unless we actively intervene. With the COVID-19 pandemic under control and the relaxation of border restrictions, it is timely for the sector to urgently consider addressing climate change.
