For beauty aficionados and curious novices, this could also be a time to explore and even experiment with different makeup techniques. And because we are all for creating a natural look for running errands, going out for brunch, or even staying at home, we sought the expertise of Makeup Artist Roseanne Tang to demonstrate a highly minimal everyday makeup look for us.
In this article, we’ve also included a list of beauty brands that we’ve tried and loved. You can explore more makeup and skincare options at ShopUOB and get exclusive deals with your UOB Card.
On Andrea: Sigi Skin’s Morning Glow Physical Sunscreen, Dior’s Hydra Life Deep Hydration Sorbet Water Essence, Handmade Heroes’ Coco-Licious Luscious Lip Scrub in Matcha Latte
Of all the pro-tips we hear over and over, the most persistent is that skincare is the key to flawless makeup application. And while it’s true that a makeup primer does have its rightful place in your makeup routine, priming your skin is also more of a step than just a product. Because skincare and makeup shouldn’t be treated as two separate entities, keeping your skin well-hydrated and protected from the UV rays is a must.
On Andrea: Fenty Beauty’s Brow MVP in Medium Brown
Roseanne’s Pro-Tip: For starters, Roseanne likes to start with the tail of the brow, slowly making her way to the start. She does this by gently filling in the gaps with soft and precise strokes to create the illusion of natural and fine-looking hair. Once she is done, she takes the small styler brush from Fenty’s brow pencil to brush through the entire brow. Eyebrows are instantly softened.
On Andrea: Too Faced’s Born This Way Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer in Almond, Charlotte Tilbury’s Desert Haze Luxury Palette of Mattes, Roseanne’s Bloomkit Basic Shader Brush, Roseanne’s Bloomkit Pencil Brush, Roseanne’s Bloomkit Smooth Blender Brush, Marc Jacobs Beauty’s Fineliner Ultra-Skinny Gel Eye Crayon (Au(spice)), Kat Von D’s Tattoo Liner (Mad Max Brown), Bioderma’s Hydrabio H2O Cleanser (To wipe off any mistakes/fall-outs)
Roseanne’s Pro-Tip: Instead of opting for an eyelid primer, apply a layer of concealer over the eyelids. This helps to even out the colour of the lids, bumping up the colour payoff for subsequent eyeshadow application. Applying the concealer with your fingers instead of a brush can also help to warm the product which helps it glide along smoothly and evenly without sacrificing on coverage.
For a softer and more natural look, matte textures would be your best friend. Roseanne started building the eye look with Shade 2 (Enhance Rehausser). Using her basic shader brush, she swept the colour from the corner of the eye, blending it right up to the eye socket.
Roseanne’s Pro-Tip: To balance out the look between both eyes (especially for those who have single or uneven eyelids), Roseanne recommends following blending the eyeshadow up to your eyeball socket because this is something everyone has and would serve as the best guideline for where your eyeshadow should end.
For the main colour, Roseanne went in for Shade 1 — a muted peach shade to add a little extra brightness on the eyes. She finished off with Shade 3 — a medium-dark brown shade, shaping the product at the upper and lower lash line for added definition.
On Andrea: Clinique’s Cheek Pop (Blush Pop), Rosanne’s Bloomkit Blush Brush, Charlotte Tilbury’s Airbrush Bronzer (Tan), Rosanne’s Bloomkit Contour Brush

Roseanne’s Pro-Tip: Not sure where to contour? Roseanne recommends starting from the area of your cheek is nearest to the top of your ear and ending the middle of your cheek. Gently shade in the cheeks, chin and temples for a more structured and defined look. For an added airy flush, Roseanne chose a very natural shade from Clinique’s Cheek Pop range. She brushed it right above the bronzer in light upward motions, further sculpting the cheek.
On Andrea: Hourglass Cosmetics’ Ambient Lighting Palette, Rosanne’s Bloomkit Powder Brush
Roseanne opted for a pared-back complexion with an added touch of luminescence to seal the entire look. She combined all three multi-dimensional powder shades and swept it all over the face, exuding a fresh-faced radiance without the harshness of a highlighter.
On Andrea: Make Up For Ever’s Artist Lip Brush (Powdery Coral), SABRINAGOH’s Hannah Top
Roseanne’s Pro-Tip: For the most natural look, avoid applying your lipstick straight from the tube. Instead, tap your fingers on the products and transfer it to your lips for a stained effect.
