More Information

  1. Who can apply for this Policy?
    UOB customers age 18 to 60 years old and residing in Singapore.
  2. When will my coverage start?
    Your coverage will start upon acceptance of your application by UOI.
  3. Does this Policy cover me for illness?
    No, this Policy covers bodily injury, death or disability caused by an Accident. “Accident” means a sudden unforeseen or fortuitous event.
  4. Are there occupations that are not covered by this Policy?
    Yes, there are occupations that this Policy does not cover such as:
    1. Taxi driver, trishaw driver or any commercial driver
    2. Air crew, ship crew, fisherman, diver or any occupations involved in underwater activity
    3. Any occupation dealing with explosives, poisonous or hazardous gas or substances
    4. Personnel involved in a manual capacity at shipyards or any occupation on board vessel or oil rigs or similar structures
    5. Personnel involved in delivery, moving or removal services
    6. Driver or operator of construction plant and machinery
    7. Personnel involved in manual capacity at construction sites/ tunnels or any occupation engaged in maintenance, roofing or repair activities involving scaffolding or gondolas or all forms of outdoor work at height above 10 meters from ground level
    8. Professional sportsmen or professional contact sports instructor
    9. Jockey, horse trainer or groomer
    10. Paramedic or personnel in armed forces, law enforcement units, security services or civil defence except those on sedentary duties or reservist training during peace time

    However, this Policy covers the bodily injury sustained by the Insured holding these occupations when they are off-duty at the time of the injury and the injury does not arise in the course of any activity related to the insured’s occupation.

  5. Are there any other activities that are not covered under this Policy?
    1. Suicide or intentional self-injury
    2. Pre-existing condition
    3. Physical or mental defect or infirmity
    4. Pregnancy or childbirth
    5. AIDS or any related diseases
    6. Sickness or disease or bodily injury due to a gradually operating cause
    7. Injury caused by the Insured Person whilst under the influence of alcohol or any drugs
    8. Hazardous sports or activities including hang gliding, parachuting, flying (except air travel), mountaineering, rock/cliff climbing, winter sports, scuba diving or racing
    9. War, nuclear/chemical/biological terrorism, nuclear reaction/radiation or radioactive contamination

  6. What type of benefits will the child be entitled to if my spouse and I both sign up?
    Please refer to Benefits (8) to (10). Free child coverage applies to unlimited number of children when both parents sign up at the same time under the same plan type (age 6 months to 21 years old if studying in a recognised institution of higher learning, who are neither married nor in employment).
  7. Who else can I purchase this Policy for?
    Spouse, parents and parents-in-law from age 18 to 60 years old. Children from age 6 months to 21 years old if studying in a recognised institution of higher learning, who are neither married nor in employment.
  8. Can I purchase this Policy for my children on a stand-alone basis?
    Yes, if the child is 18 years old and above.
  9. If I have another personal accident policy, can I claim from both policies?
    If you are claiming from any other personal accident policy, you can also claim from Accident Refund Protector for all the benefits except the Medical Expenses Benefit. UOI will reimburse you the Medical Expenses amount which has not been reimbursed under any other policy, subject to the terms of the Policy.
  10. Does this Policy have a cash value or surrender value?
    This Policy does not have a cash value or surrender value.
  11. Will the premium increase with age?
    The premium will not increase with age.
  12. Must I inform UOI to renew the Policy?
    No, your Policy will be automatically renewed as long as you pay the premium, subject to the terms of the Policy. Please note that no renewal notice will be sent.
  13. Under what circumstances will the Policy terminate?
    This Policy will terminate upon
    • Non-payment of premium by the premium due date
    • Cancellation of the Policy by you or by UOI
    • The Insured Adult reaching the age of 76 years old;
    • The Insured Child reaching the age of 22 years old; whichever occurs first.
  14. Can the Policy be cancelled?
    Yes, the Policy can be cancelled by you or UOI giving 30 days prior written notice.
  15. How do I make a claim?
    You or your legal representative should notify UOI in writing within 30 days should anything occur that is likely to give rise to a claim and provide any supporting documents at your own expense to UOI as soon as practicable.
