Overseas Card Use

We are pleased to inform you that your UOB Credit/Debit Card(s) will remain enabled1 for overseas magnetic stripe use for your convenience.

As part of our enhanced security features on your UOB Card(s), you can choose to disable or enable your Card’s2 magnetic stripe for overseas use through the UOB website by clicking on the “Overseas Card Use”3 tab located below or by calling our customer service hotline. These settings will be effective from 1 October 2013.

For your convenience and security, you will also be able to set the time period which your UOB
Card(s) will be enabled for overseas magnetic stripe usage. The magnetic stripe on your card(s) will automatically be disabled after that time.

Please note that all local and overseas transactions using the EMV Chip on your UOB Card(s) remain unaffected. For assistance, you may call our 24 hour customer service hotline on 1800 2222 121 in Singapore or (65) 62222 121 from overseas.

1Please note that the magnetic stripe on selected Card(s) may be disabled. To check the current settings on all your Card(s), please click on the "Overseas Card Use" tab above

2Please note that each principal and supplementary cardholder will need to view or change the magnetic stripe setting of his/her card(s) respectively.

3You will receive a One-Time Password (OTP) via SMS to complete the disabling/enabling of the magnetic stripe on the Card(s). Please ensure that your updated mobile phone number has been registered into our records.
