UOB Fixed Deposit Plus - Series 1

UOB Fixed Deposit Plus - Series 1 is a five-year Singapore Dollar Structured Deposit Account that lets you enjoy:
  • Guaranteed annual interest payment of 1.65% p.a. for the first two years
  • Potential bonus interest of up to 104.7%1 on maturity. This bonus interest is linked to the performance of Dow Jones Global Titans 50 Index (DJGT Index), which comprises the world's 50 largest companies. The bonus interest earned is calculated by the net total return2 (based on the sum of month-on-month return3) of Dow Jones Global Titans 50 Index and is payable only if the net total returns over the five-year period is greater than zero
  • No sales or management fees
  • Guaranteed principal4 on maturity

Notes:
1 Actual bonus interest will depend on the performance of the underlying index.
2 Net total return is the total monthly return less the total fixed interest payment.
3. Month-on-month return of Dow Jones Global Titans 50 Index is subject to a cap of 4%.
4 100% principal guarantee is applicable only if placed for the full 5-year term.

More Information

Structured deposits which have risk and investment elements, are not conventional deposits and accordingly, are not insured deposits for the purposes of the Deposit Insurance Act (Chapter 77A).

In addition, structured deposits are not covered under the Singapore Government’s guarantee on all Singapore Dollar and foreign currency deposits of individual and non-bank customers in banks, finance companies and merchant banks licensed by the MAS (which is in effect until 31 December 2010).

Provided that the whole amount of the Principal Amount is held with the Bank up to the Maturity Date, 100% of the Principal Amount shall be guaranteed and payable by the Bank to the investor on the Maturity Date.
