Security Alert: SMS spoofing

We would like to alert the public to SMS messages on money lending which appear to originate from UOB (an example is shown below). Such messages are a result of SMS spoofing. We would like to assure our customers that such messages were not sent by UOB and that our system and all customer information remain secure.

What is SMS spoofing:
SMS spoofing is a technology that replaces the originating mobile number (Sender ID) with alphanumeric text to impersonate another's identity.

What action to take:
Please contact Customer Service at 1800-2222-121 if you encounter any suspicious SMS messages that appear to be from UOB.
