Enable your Card(s) for Overseas Card Use

Enable your Card(s) for Overseas Card Use from 1 October 2013

 
From 1 October 2013, the magnetic stripe on your existing Card(s) and new/replaced Card(s) will be disabled2 for overseas card use (for Point of Sale transactions and ATM access). To use your Card(s) overseas, please remember to enable the magnetic stripe on your Card(s) by clicking on the "Overseas Card Use"3 tab located below.
 

Other ways to enable/disable the magnetic stripe on your Card(s):

  • Visit a UOB Branch near you
  • Download and mail form to us
  • Call our 24-hour hotline 1800 222 2121
  • Go to the nearest UOB ATM5 (available from end November 2013)


1 The term "Card(s)" shall mean any credit cards and debit cards issued by United Overseas Bank Limited.
   
2 Please note that the magnetic stripe on your Card(s) may remain enabled for selected UOB card types issued by United Overseas Bank Limited (“UOB”) and UOB customers. To check the current settings on your
Card(s), please click on the " Overseas Card Use" tab above.
   
3 You will receive a One-Time Password (OTP) via SMS to complete the disabling/enabling of the magnetic stripe on the Card(s). Please ensure that your updated mobile phone number has been registered into our records.
   
4 Any changes that you make during the period from 23 September 2013 to 30 September 2013 (both days inclusive) to settings of the magnetic stripe of the Card(s) will only take effect commencing from 1 October 2013.
   
5 Card PIN needed.
